SBA Certified HUBZone Small Business


HUBZone is a United States Small Business Administration (SBA) program for small companies that operate and employ people in Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZones).  The HUBZone program was created in response to the HUBZone Empowerment Act created by the US Congress in 1998.  Based on the Act, J.R. Mannes was designated as HUBZone certified based on the following criteria:

1. J.R. Mannes is a small business based on the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for size standards.

2. The corporation is at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens.

3. Our principal office (the location where the greatest number of employees perform their work, excluding contract sites) is located in a HUBZone.

4. 35% of J.R. Mannes' total workforce resides in a HUBZone.

VETS Verified Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business


The Veterans Benefits, Health Care, and Information Technology Act of 2006 (Public Law 109-461) provides the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) with unique authority for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside and sole source contracts. The VA refers to this program as the Veterans First Contracting Program.

The Vets First Verification Program affords verified firms owned and controlled by Veterans and Service-disabled Veterans the opportunity to compete for VA set asides. The Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) verified J.R. Mannes as a VOSB according to the tenets found in Title 38 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 74.
